Covenant. Kingdom. Canon.
I research the rhetoric and covenant theology of Deuteronomy, exploring how Scripture’s form and performance shape the life of God’s people. My work bridges the academy and the church, equipping pastors, leaders, and the broader body of Christ to read faithfully and lead wisely.

Weston Blaha
I am a pastor in the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, a PhD candidate researching the rhetorical and covenantal structure of Deuteronomy, and the creator of Covenant & Kingdom—a biblical theology project exploring the unified story of Scripture through covenant, kingdom, temple, exile, and new creation.
My work focuses on how rhetoric, liturgy, and embodied worship shape the people of God, bridging academic theology and the life of the church. Through writing, teaching, and cinematic media, I seek to equip pastors, church leaders, and believers to read Scripture canonically, think theologically, and see Christ at the center of the biblical story.
Covenant and Kingdom
Covenant and Kingdom is a biblical theology project dedicated to showing how the entire Bible tells one unified story centered on God dwelling with His people through covenant. Through cinematic teaching, theological depth, and canonical context, the series traces themes like creation, temple, kingdom, exile, sacrifice, and new creation—revealing how every part of Scripture ultimately points to Jesus Christ and the restoration of all things.

Research
As part of my PhD, I’m writing on the rhetoric of Deuteronomy 16:18-18:22. Most recently, my work has been focused on exploring how covenant rhetoric, ritual, sacred space, and textual authority converge in the closing chapters of Moses’ life. I share updates, reflections, and accessible explanations of my research in an ongoing blog series.

Books
I’ve written resources for leaders and volunteers in youth ministry, including Student Ministry Field Guide and The Student Ministry Volunteer. While my research and writing now focus more on Deuteronomy and covenant theology, these books remain a practical resource for those serving the next generation.

“Pastors, buy Student Ministry Field Guide for your Youth Leaders and discuss it with them weekly. Veteran Youth Leaders, this book will help you train aspiring leaders. Youth Workers of all stripes, discuss this book with a friend and sharpen each other as iron sharpens iron.”
Rev. Andrew Mills, EPC NextGen Ministries Council

“The only word I have to describe this book is: FINALLY. Finally, someone wrote what leaders need to know about beginning the youth ministry journey and avoiding its many pitfalls.”
Mike Howington, Coordinator of Youth and Family Ministries, UMC Conference, MS.
