Exploring the covenantal structure of Scripture through rhetoric, theology, and ministry.
I research the rhetoric and covenant theology of Deuteronomy, exploring how Scripture’s form and performance shape the life of God’s people. My work bridges the academy and the church, equipping pastors, leaders, and the broader body of Christ to read faithfully and lead wisely.

About

I am a pastor in the Evangelical Presbyterian Church and a PhD candidate researching the rhetorical and covenantal structure of Deuteronomy. My work explores how embodied rhetoric and speech-act theory shape biblical theology and the church’s life today. Alongside academic writing, I publish resources for pastors and church leaders, bridging research and ministry.
Research
As part of my PhD, I’m writing on the rhetoric of Deuteronomy 16:18-18:22. Most recently, my work has been focused on exploring how covenant rhetoric, ritual, and textual authority converge in the closing chapters of Moses’ life. I share updates, reflections, and accessible explanations of my research in an ongoing blog series.
Books
I’ve written resources for leaders and volunteers in youth ministry, including Student Ministry Field Guide and The Student Ministry Volunteer. While my research and writing now focus more on Deuteronomy and covenant theology, these books remain a practical resource for those serving the next generation.

More recently, I have written a concise, 12-chapter devotional based upon the lesser known prophets of the Old Testament called Forgotten Prophets: Lessons in Faithfulness From the Overlooked Figures of Scripture. It’s a free ebook that can be downloaded from my “Books” page.
